up to date info on insurance

Hello guys not sure if this is the correct section to be posting if not could you please move mods
i now have £6000 worth of gear im looking for insurance theres just so much out there i have looked at the threads on here but would like some up to date info on what you guys/girls recommend especially if you have had to make a claim! i have got a quote from infocus insurance and they seem reasonably priced i get pro indemnity and public liability cover included in car cover too all for £210 so was going to go with that but any horror storys before i pull the trigger?i hear photoguard are ok but take ages to process a claim and are far more expensive and i need my gear the girl at infocus says claims are usually sorted or come to an agreement within a week.anyway hope to hear some of your views on this thank you

Checkout their excess, there was another company who's excess was 10% value of your equipment at home raising to something like 15 or 20% away from home. Read the small print. I'm with photoguard, and yes they're expensive, but I've yet to hear anyone have any problems making a claim with them.

Thanks for the info there excess is £200 of any claim raising to £300 if stolen for a car or anything happens whilst abroad which isn't too bad I guess I have been reading loads of terms and conditions all day my heads sore lol

I have been with them for 3 years now and they are excellent. I made one claim and the cheque arrived within 5 days. Painless transaction.
My kit comes to about £18k + public liability and it doesn't cost much more than your quote, if I remember correctly.

thanks kev thats great to know there quote for me with public liability was just under £260 but no indemnity cover i will phone them monday and get a new quote with that included as i really need it
