I'd have dialled it back a touch in exposure level, and maybe modified the colour or WB to give a more orangey look. It's a wee bit too yellowy for my taste.

Agree with the problem with the orangey look. Would look better IMO if:
1. It was b&w.
2. The exposure was pulled down a little.
3. The lamppost was showing.

I suggest you dont use manual but try a semi auto mode like apperture priority to start with when trying this out.
Your light trails on theroad are overexposed too IMO.

Agree with above non the less a good attempt here I recently made the mistake of shooting too early on the same sort of shot so mine needed the opposite in the critique lol

Took thestranger's idea and converted to mono (played around with exp comp but couldn't get it right) think this looks better..you?

I think so yeah. Maybe you could increase the blacks to make the opening a little more mysterious as the fence is a tad distracting.
