I'm finally in a position to upgrade my kit.
I want to get a 7D and also upgrade at least one lens.
Now, I can't decide whether to sell my Tamron 17-50 f2/8 VC and get a Canon 17-55 IS f/2.8 or sell my Tamron 18-270 VC and get a Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS.
I would prefer to go for a 70mm-300mm but the cost of the 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 DO IS USM is off putting as it is not an L lens.
It might perhaps seem a bit silly selling my Tamron 17-50 and get a Canon 17-55 but this is a lens Ive a wanted for quite some time.
I know a lot of people are not keen on super zooms but Ive been happy with the Tamron 18-270 on my 450D and 40D.
But of course the question is how well this lens would perform on a 7D.
I could of course keep the 40D and get both lenses but the new AF system on the 7D has me very interested in getting one.
My overall thinking is keep the Tamron 17-50 as this will probably perform better on a 7D than my Tamron 18-270.
Over to you
