upgrade from 40d to 7d

Have any of you guys done this upgrade and have you noticed any real improvements over the 40d.

Yes I have and yes I have.

I still have the 40D and use it as my second string but the 7D is a much superior tool.

Still use my 40d for landscapes but the AF on the 7D is a big step up.
 
I have found the af, image quality and high iso usability much better on the 7d. It's a much better camera.

Same here. Also the 100% viewfinder is lovely, the LCD screen is lovely, the AF micro adjust is handy and the Video mode is nice to have too.
I upgraded from a 40D last year and haven't looked back.
 
I heard the 7d's video funcionality is far superior then any dedicated HD camcorder?

Also, whats this 100% viewfinder? i dont get it? my 400d as a 100% viewfinder?

The viewfinder in the 400D only shows 95% of the image that the sensor will capture. See here.
IIRC Until the 7D came along, 100% viewfinders were reserved for the 1D & 1Ds lines only.
