Upgrade from Canon 300d

Hi All,

New here so be kind!

I have a 300d that I would like to upgrade. It gets good up close shots but longer range AF is not great and MF is almost impossible with the viewfinder. I have some canon kit so would want to stay canon. New or sencond hand fine but prefer 2nd hand as I can get more for my money!

I think either of the 30D, 40D or 50D would suit you well and is a good upgrade from the 300D.
Looking at your camera bag you might want to try a good all round lens like the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX DG, or if budget is higher the EF 24-105 F4 IS.
The thing to remember is you will probably see a bigger improvement if you up grade your lens than your camera.

The 40 / 50D bodies are a great upgrade, obviously depending on budget the 450 / 500D are also worth a look. I upgraded from the 300 (which my daughter uses now) to a 40D and I've no regrets

Thanks all. I am relatively happy with my glass and can get good shots but want something more from the camera itself. What is going to be the big difference between an 30d and 40d, apart from about £100?
