Upgrade from the 1000D..

So I bought the 1000D last year to get me into photography, but now I'm wanting a bit more.

I don't mind buying a 2nd hand body as long as its low usage and good condition and at a good price.

Would I be right in thinking that the 550D or 600D would be the way to go? I shoot anything really, but mainly motorsport this year. I have the lenses I want so far, but will add another at Xmas.

I went from a 1000D to a 40D - it was a great switch, ergonomically more than anything as I think they share the same sensor? If you don't mind the extra weight you'll get a quality alloy body & near 7fps. I'm sure you could pick a used 40D up now for comfortably under £300

Ok thats good to know.

I'm popping to a local camera shop (family run) and I know they will part ex my 1000D aswell so will always bring the price down some more
