Just been my local shop at lunch and seen this Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 APO EX HSM in the window, any one got one ? its 2nd hand but im currently using a sigma 70-300 3.5.45 non IS.

I shoot mainly cycling and want to start shooting football and rugby.

will this be better than what i have got for what i want to use it for ?

yes...

the 2.8 will be invaluable ..I ahve had this lens and it was great.. not as good as its canon counterpart but still very good.. I ahvent had the 70-300 but from what i hear you will lose 100mm but still be steppping up..

thats would indeed make it a 320mm but at f4 and a deterioration in pic quality and af speed... if a TC was perfect nobody would pay out for 300mm lens :)
