Upgrading 550D

Why do you want to upgrade? What doesn't the 550d do that you want it to?

if you are after the twidly screen feature then nothing wrong with the 60d 600d or 650d
do a search some very recent threads on the dilemma of which one of the 3

Either the 60D or the 650D are good updates for the 550D. I started out with a 550D and after an inheritance I decided to upgrade and have finished up with a 5D3 and a 60D whils I gave the wife the 550D. Then when the 650D came out I bought one for the wife and eventually sold off the 550D.

The 60D, for me anyway, gets the vote as it has better ergonomics and is layed out more like the 5D3. The 650D has very similar features in a lot of ways, but it has better ISO handling and the touchscreen is excellent. If I hadn't got another body with the different styling I would of gone for a 650D in a heart beat.

Mystery57, if you are anywhere near the Lincoln area and want to come and have a look and play with the 60D and the 650D just drop me a PM and we can make an arrangement.

I went to Park Cameras today to choose my Canon. I went for the 650D. I tried the 60D and although its meant to be better built, the little 650 seemed more solid with less creaks! Maybe because the 60 was quite an old display model.

The buttons on the 60 were pretty nasty for me, but two dials and top screen were great.

The touch screen on the 650 was fantastic. I never thought I would say that either! Was very dubious about it, but it's such a joy to use. You can change settings really quickly too.

Of course it's down to personal choice but I have gone for the 650 with cheap and cheerful 18-55 and 55-250 along with a little sigma 30mm treat!
