Hey guys, Im James and I'm new here!
Im a photography student and im looking to upgrade my gear before i go to uni so i can make some money by photographing events. (Wont be taking photography at uni :/) I currently own a Nikon D40 and a D3100 with the kit lens and a Sigma 50-200 (also use a Nissin Speedlight). Ive got around £1200 to spend on a new camera that will work well in low light (will be shooting club nights and gigs). My main issue is if i should go for a DX Crop or FX body.
Im currently looking at going down the body only route as i want to stay away from kit lenses for good so ive currently got the D7100 or second hand D600 on the table.
What would you guys recommend? Bear in mind that i will also be needing a lens to put on it that will cover most things. (Ive been looking at the Nikon 50mm F1.4 AF-D).
Here is a link to my photoblog so you guys can see my style of shooting and how ive been using the D40.
