Upgrading my pc

I want to upgrade mypc to windows 7 64 bit. I would like advice about what motherboard/processor combination to use. Up to now I have used amd processors and asus motherboards.

yerrr.... right £1500+ but you would have the best of both worlds Win 7 and Mac OSX Snow Leopard on a very quick machine if you choose to go the 8 core route 2x quad Xeon processors option


on a more serious note you may be best to go the self build route, at least you can specify your own components

Come on now, the question was how to modify his current setup to run Windows 7 by gutting it. That change for around £300 is ideal. Changing the entire computer didn't fit in with the question! (smilies seen )

I personally would also add a Samsung F1 1Tb hard drive for about £55 inc. This is a very fast large capacity drive and would fit the rest of the components very nicely.

There is an alternative though.....

how much money do you wanna throw at it, I just specc'd up a case at 800-900 ish but its i7 m-atx and luverly
