upgrading the D60

I'm looking to upgrade my D60 - I'm thinking either a D3100 or D5100 but can't really afford to splash out that kind of money without selling my D60 first which I don't really want to do. Does anybody know if London Camera Exchange or Jessops do part exchange? I do still have all the packaging for my beloved D60

Well, with LCE the clue is in their name...

Don't think Jessops do though.

Be aware though that you would probably get a fair bit more for it selling it yourself.
 
LCE do (hense their name!) but Jessops stopped px'ing and buying used gear a few years ago.
 
I hope you don’t mind me put in my two pennyworth but I still have my d60 although I have upgraded to a d90, IMHO the d60 is already a better camera than the d3100and the d5100 is not that much of a jump up, unless there is something you really need that is not on the d60 please think about whether you would improve your images more by spending the money on other equipment, say a lens or a flash gun. A few more megapixels will not make a lot of difference unless you are printing very large way over A4

Don't get me wrong I truly love my D60 it's an amazing camera, and I must stress that I'm only thinking about the change at the minute - it won't be a decision I make in a hurry. The only thing I don't like is the 3 point AF on the D60. The main reasons for upgrading would be purely for the 11 point AF, and live view, and the D3100 is looking favourite over the D5100. I won't be making any decisions until I've really thought about it though.

As for other equipment, I do have a Nikon 55-300mm VR lens as well as the kit lens, and the Jessops 360AFD TTL flash gun and off camera flash lead. I don't, at the minute, see a need for me to upgrade to remote flash triggers. I will be buying a set of Cokin P ND filters probably in the new year to coincide with our holiday to the states next spring but other than that I cant think of anything else I really need.
