So is the 17-40 really that bad or is it simply not up to the resolution of a 50Mp sensor?

It’s never had a great reputation.

It’s the only L lens I ever sold cos I wasn’t impressed with it.

It is not up to 16mp sensor. Original 5d was already pushing it too far
