Urban portrait type stuff... I think

Hi all,
I really want to have a go at at some urban portraits.
I haven't settled on any specific subject but I do want them to be a bit gritty I think.

I have had a google to see if I could maybe find a skateboard or BMX group in my area, thinking that I could contact a member a offer them a time for print/CD arrangement, but no joy.

Anyone one here ever done anything like this? Or better still anyone near me (Dudley, West Midlands) know of a skateboard or BMX club that I could contact.

If I did manage to sort something out I was wondering what the interest would be like in making this a meet up for a few togs?

Anyway, cheers for your time.

The best idea would be to just go out to the skate parks and that and just go and ask the people there if they would mind. Look for the more experienced, better skateboarders/riders as they are more likely to come out with better images and are more likely to pull off the tricks (if you're showing them doing tricks) under pressure. I love shooting scenarios like this and half of my friends are skaters or BMXers, it's a shame i'm a while away or i would join you.

I marcusp13,
Cheers for the advice and if I can't pre arrange something, I think I may well just rock up one day at a weekend.
I had wanted to arrange something in advance because I have had a couple of run in's with the law when I have been on the street with my camera, never anything serious and they where always really polite, but I still felt like a plank having people look at me being questioned by the old bill.
