I found myself spending most of the day yesterday in the urban culture/sport/music festival down by the waterfront in Bristol.
It was pretty colourful stuff with skateboarding, parkour (running about jumping on things), bmx stunting etc. Here's a selection of my lot...
#1 pan zoom BMX stunting
#2 slow shutter without zooming to get the motion of the stunt the guy was doing
#3 Amazing stunt cyclist guy who rode his mountain bike up vertical walls and balanced on railings on his back wheel....
#4...like this:
#5 skater boy using remote flash. Crappy backgrounds were the order of the day.
#6 Parkour from below. Very fit and athletic guys doing this - quite superb.
#7 Breakdancing dude (should have got the guy's name)
#8 Another breakdancing dude
#9 Another BMX shot. I found the normal "frozen" looking shots a bit dull - the slow shutter ones seem much more effective. I was using 2nd curtain sync flash here.
Great experience and lots of new stuff to shoot and add to the portfolio.
