Yes
hi all, just trying to set up my d700 to fire as a commander for my sb700 flash. I put the settings in and set the right channel etc, but when i fire it the sb700 flash DOES fire but ommits a series of loud beeps (like a siren) afterwards. Whereas on my d90 it's working fine. What could it be?? I really need to sort this out as i have a wedding coming up at the weekend.

edit sb700 manual suggests that the beeps mean 'auto aperture flash mode or non-ttl flash mode is set on the master flash unit, change the flash mode to an operable flash mode'...but i've no idea what that really means to be honest. any ideas?

many thanks!

NEVER MIND! Fixed it...for some reason group A had been put into AA mode rather than TTL. No idea how that happened ;)

I have the same problem as you had. But all my settings are set correctly. Only way I managed to fire SB-700 remotely with D700 was full manual mode. (SU-4 and camera flash set to M on low output).

Does anybody have any idea how could I fix that?

After I want to remotely trigger SB-700 it gives me alternatig beep for approx. 6 seconds and front LEDs blink 3 times in 6 sets.

Wow, kind of freaky to get an email alert saying there's been a reply made to a thread I posted four and a half years ago [emoji15] sorry, I no longer have a d700 or the sb700 but I wish you the best of luck sorting out your issue. Thanks for the blast from the past haha
