Hey all,
I've just purchased a secondhand 24-70mm lens from amazon and after getting a reply from the seller I have found out it was made 2006.
My questions are:
1) Should I be concerned with an older manufactured model of this lens?
and
2) Paying £890 is a good price for this age?

I must admit I thought it was recently purchased model that they didn't get on with hence the sale (based on their description).

I need to reply to them asap to let them know if I still want to proceed with the sale so would appreciate advise.

Note: I should add that apart from light scuffs on the hood I'm told the lens is in mint condition.

That seems quite a high price for a second hand lens, my new one a few months ago was just about £1000, so you're saving £100 ish. Any warranty with "your" one.
I wouldnt be "that" concerned with an "old" lens (if the price was right, caveat above). I do like mine a lot.

A new lens with a guarantee and also the right to return the lens for a refund if you're not happy with it for just £100 ish more, sounds like the better deal to me.

The 2nd hand lens would have to be significantly cheaper than that for me to be tempted.
