....for the the first time in well over 6 months, after having a D80 and my current D200 I couldn't believe how small it felt. It was my mates who bought his first DLSR(D40) at the same time as me 3 years ago but has never really got into togging. So I popped over to see him today and show him how to use his camera in manual (after 3 years!) as he was having issues taking 50/50 pictures of cars (we are also detailers). I could not believe how small the D40 was compared to my D200!

Within the 6 months of 'upgrades' i never realised how big my camera had become, when I got the D40 i thought it was huge, but it's not a patch on the d80/90 D200/300.

Moral of the thread is to maybe get back to your roots every now and then to see how far you have come equipment wise and maybe it will make you realise how far your have moved on. I was all for changing to the GF1 today but the little timeline from the D40 to D200 has shown me how much i've enjoyed getting to the bigger/better cameras, and what a pleasure it has been getting here. Roll on the D300/s/D700 in years to come ( unfortuantly I will always be a few years behind in camera tech due to my passing of cars!)

So to all those *** are itching to upgrade, try and take time to look at where you have come from and you may realise where you are isn't such a bad palace.

Thank you and goodnight,

Swordjo
