The law states that in the event an item is misdescribed or faulty, return postage is at the supplier's cost. Ask them to refund it.

I had a very good experience with Skears, too. Cambrian Photography, Colwyn Bay has been mentioned here before. Super shop - just like the old days with highly knowledgeable (and even Welsh speaking :D) staff. And it's just 40 minutes away from me :)

Their ebay site has nothing listed for sale.

I have suggested this in another thread, so sorry for repeating it: Hales Owen Photo Centre, 15, Peckingham St. Hales Owen West Midlands (0121 585 5021) does sell and trade used gear, the owner, John Forrester is probably better known for camera repairs
 
I like value for money to and can stand waste , so I tend to phone up and ask for a describe of the item, there is two guys at Ffordes that over describe condition Alister and Ross they would say has a couple of marks when I would say you need a magnifing glass to see those marks but I always feel better getting something in better than expected condition (More Value for money) . I spoke to Ross the other day and he say there New website once finished will have better descriptions and pictures for those unable to phone .
 
spoke to ffordes scotland as I was looking for a Nikon 24-120mm VR lens they described the one that they had in stock the salesman ? describe every mark on body he said to keep an on there site or phone every couple of weeks as he through that I could get a better condition one for only about £10-20 more , there is not many times you will find a salesman putting you off a lens but good advice and I will go back , I should have asked his name as I still like that one to one personal service , he sounds like a highland anyway

Totally agree re Harrisons, excellent service for new and used, got a cracking deal on a Sigma 50-500 and they were prepared to split a box set to beat other new prices by quite a way on a pay lens for a friend
 
I don;t know how good they are at aftersales, but CEX do photographic sometimes - I saw a Canon 24-105 for £585
