Just found this site which has a download to allow you to run a benchmark on your PC using Photoshop (any version from 7 iirc). Because it uses PS, it can be used to benchmark Macs as well. If you try it and decide to submit your results, you may find you get a Server 500 error but you can ignore it. It will have recorded your results. May be useful for people who are asking about upgrades/new machines for better PS performance?
FWIW, my PC got a score of 348.6 which has given my old Core 2 Duo a stay of execution for a little while longer
PS: To get some of the technical information asked for at results submission, just download a program called Speccy from www.piriform.com for Windows. Don't know a Mac equivalent but I'm sure someone will.
