I am looking to use two cards in my canon but I have never done this before. At the moment I just use the CF card, what do I need to use both and do I need to chang the settings to write to both

Assuming its the same as the Mark 2n you will need to change the back up settings so the camera writes the same images to both CF and SD. Ideally i would have thought you would want both cards to be the same size or one will fill after than the other.

I think with the Mark 2 it will only write the same images to bit cards e.g. raw to both or jpeg+raw to both etc. The Mark 2n could do jpeg to one and raw to the other.

As suggested by Euan, ideally used same size CF and SD cards, I use a pair of 4 Gig Sandisk Extreme III cards in mine.
 
anybody have any idea if it has any effect on the buffer? might start doing this in mine...
