Using your clients images on the web

I see lots of images from weddings, portrait shoots etc, on the photographers website, portfolio or flickr accounts.
I presume the photographer has asked permission of the client to do this, or are they going on the "I'm the copyright holder and can do what I like with it"?

I use my images from clients weddings online, I've never come across it being a problem!

If someone were to object then I'd happily not display them

It's part of my contract. If someone objects then I'll happily amend the contract for them but it's a standard clause in mine.

It's standard in most social tog's contracts, and generally nowadays people are more than happy to have their pic's online. For some it's a little moment of stardom! For any that object it's no big deal.
