UV filter - allowing ONLY UV light in

Hi all

I've had a query from a friend who is interested in doing some experimentation.

He would like a filter which only lets in UV light. The filter would therefore filter out all other wavelengths.

Is such a thing possible? Is there an available filter?

And what would one expect to see?

I'm sure I came across a company doing UV conversions (same idea as the IR ones) but I take it your pal just wants to dabble, rather than go the whole hog?

This might be more ammenable with film and the right filter. IR was the more popular option

Hi - thanks for the link. I see the UV-Nikkor 105mm is designed for this job. It appears to be fairly rare and seems to be around $4k I did find a substitute lens here, but it's even more - $4.5k!

Yeah I think so. He was hoping it would be as easy to do as IR.
