uv filter for canon 450d

can anybody tell me which uv filter on ebay will be suitable for my canon 450d ive seen a pack on there for around £18 although it says 74mm it does say for a canon 450d also others at 58mm are supposed to fit the 450d so im unsure which is right.

My 450D lens(18-55mm) has got the 58mm diameter thread so I would say you need the 58mm filters and not the 74mm one's.

The UV filter is for the lens, not the camera. Look at the inside of your lens cap, and all will be revealed.

if it's for the stock 18-55 lens, i wouldn't bother. the cost of a decent uv filter compared to the value of replacing the lens is not worth it (IMHO). particularly as youor only adding to the loss in IQ by sticking an extra piece of glass in front.
If it's a 17-55, thats a different story
