UV filters on IR camera lens?

Thefilter or no filter thread in this section made me think about using UV filters in IR, will a UV filter for protecting my lenses have an effect on the sensitivity of the IR? Do they overlap or are they so far apart they have no effect?

I have been using them on my lenses as i like the protection but suddenly thought hold on am i effecting the cameras capability?

UV and IR are both at opposite ends of the visible light spectrum so it shouldn't be an issue, but as always if you don't need the UV filter on, remove it just incase.

I use the filter for protection not filtration, glad it won't effect the ir handling cheers mate
