UV & PL Filters...

Afternoon all,

I know the saying of you get what you pay for etc.

But what are people opinions on the Jessops UV and Pl filters?, are they any good, or are they just overpriced cheap filters?..

Main reason for asking, is i got 1 as part of deal for kit lens (uv 58mm).. and need a PL and a 52mm for my nifty fifty.. well someone at work as
New 58mm PL
Used 52mm PL (1 day)
New 52mm UV

Only want £20 for the lot

2 are still sealed, and used is immaculate.. and dont need them as using Lee filters...

What i wanna know is it worth me getting or am i wasting money or something that my lower IQ?

For £20 you can't go wrong as long as they as in good nick. If you are starting out a polariser is a good investment people will argue over a uv filter there are loads of different makes and unless you are spending big money they are much if a muchness.
 
Ps if I remember correctly the 52mm will fit the excellent 50mm f1.8 Canon lens which should be your shopping list as its a bargain ...

Picked up the nifty fifty last week, so that was my thinking behind getting the lot from him..

The PLs might be OK for a start, but UV is definitely destined to the bin. Ideally filters should be multicoated; these arent.

Oh right ok thanks, i got them in the end, but will look for better UV when budget allows..
