Vampire Ant

this was a setup, i put a drop of lovely sweet ribena on a pebble in the garden and in no time it was crawling with ants, what amazed me was when they finished their abdomens glowed red from the ribena, could easy have passed for blood!
Taken with my 100mm macro with 3 extension tubes.
heres one just finished drinking it.

to be honest, i went looking for other stuff, i thought i had some blue/green liqueur to try but couldnt find it before it went dark, going to have another try soon though as i'm sure they'll love it.
