A good friend who I introduced to photography some time ago came up with a really good question the other day;
Why do camera manufacturers not develop a sensor that can have different ISO sensitivities across it's surface?
To try to explain, cameras have multi matrix metering why cant the sensor pixels or areas have individual ISO settings so that bright areas of the scene can be allocated a low ISO and dark areas of the scene been given a higher ISO?
Thoughts?
