No
Cold walk along the river lunchtime looking for peckers (Lesser-Spotted) only produced a few new Catkins...

What do you think ?

Ven,
What a coincidence, I got a shot of a GS Woodpecker today. Its not great (well its not even good :embarasse ), but its the best I've got so far.
I really must get that 300mm f2.8 (I wish).:banghead:
Taken with my puny Sigma 70 - 300 5.6

Taken at a local nature reserve - we never see any in our gardens round here :sadcry:

Not puny at all Ricky ... a fine shot of a very difficult bird to photograph ! Impressed - I am !

We get these in our garden daily - yours is clearly a male of the species too !

Have yet to see the Lesser Spotted though !

BTB ... cannot be puny to pick up a shot like this ! I was out with a loan Tampon 18 - 200 !

And TFL Ricky !

Thanks Ven,
Never seen a LS woodpecker myself. I heard plenty of Green woodpeckers today too, but unfortunately I did'nt see them to get a photo...maybe next time.
p.s. the photo I posted was cropped a bit, I guess I was about 20 meters away from this (very obliging) bird. They don't normally hang around long !
