currently have email for the website through gmail, have had some negative comments on this and would like to have a domain based email name. My knowledge of this is virtually non existent, it took me a week to get the DNS working for the URL !
I beleive I need to buy some webspace (VDS ?), my provider register1.neet has several packages. What sort of data size do I need to be looking at for one email address with approx 20 emails per day ?
Also, can I get the new email address to forward to the current gmail address. I really like the flexibility gmail gives me of being able to check the email anywhere with an internet connection.

I wouldn't bother with a VDS, if it's just for those emails... It's likely to be well over and above what you need. A cheap hosting package for about £3 a month should do you for what you need (assuming you're not sending massive files, of course :D)

gmail is quite easy to integrate with various web hosts - I run 5 different accounts through my gmail account :)

Thanks Matt but too late I have just bought 3 years VDS ... but £47 for 3 years can't be bad

Ahh... Just looked at their definition of VDS.. It's different to most.

VDS usually refers to Virtual Dedicated Server (otherwise known as VPS), which are about £25+ a month.

What you've got looks fine :)

Thanks Matt and after much DNS head scratching seems to be back up and running again :-) A lot of stress for a "proper" email address !
