Very first bird photo - Kingfisher

My very first attempt at bird photography. This was taken from my bedroom window using a Skywatcher ED80 and Canon EOS 450d. Was too excited to do anything but just capture as many shots as I could, with a token attempt at controlling focus and settings once I'd calmed down. I believe the settings were
focal length 510mm
f 6.3
ASA 400
1/800 sec

Very soft focus wise - I can't really see where the focus point actually is.

Do you use spot focusing on the camera?

Not in this case Les. It was using the telescope as a lens and hence manual focussing. At this point I was still unfamiliar with zooming in with Live View to get fine focussing. Next time!
