So a white spider waits on a white flower then eats the bees?

Yep!
Well they don't seem to be superstitious about the colour of the flower. They mostly hide behind/under the petal with those long front legs extended and when the poor bee comes ... WHAM Game Over!!
First time I saw them was in sun flowers in my garden.

Oh my god that is horrendous! Gah! I hate spiders!

This is Africa Sam
Even Rottweilers move in pairs after dark....
Anybody seen anything like this little one in the UK?

You gotta be kidding! If there are I'm moving out!

Is it related to the crab spider? We have them in the UK, and I usually find them lurking in my bathroom for some strange reason. I've seen them in all manner of colours. They are only about the size of a fingernail. I have never seen one ambush a bee though  Let's hope I'm not on the menu

Hey Sam
I understand where you are coming from,My wife has a REALLY BAD FEAR of snakes.
Is it or was it ever true that there are no snakes in the UK?(IN THE WILD I MEAN)

We do have snakes in the wild in the UK, the only poisonous one being the Adder - see KenCo's thread here

Hi minimeeze
Your id looks spot on in terms of size, habits and description.Don't worry I doubt you will be on their menu:LOL:

Thanks for that link!

Sorry Sam old man, looks like they are indeed in the UK and all over the world(well barring Antarctica maybe-no flowers there:LOL: )

Aww shoot Minimeeze
Well if my wife sees this I can forget about us immigrating to the UK:shrug:

You'll never see a snake in the uk though mate, very very rare.

Plenty of crab spiders here, though usually see more of them in the spring, like this cute little lady:
