As i have been working very hard lately i havent had a chance to try out my big lens and as im off to Uist on the hunt for some wildlife i thought i better test the lens etc to see what i can achieve with it.

I took the lens, tripod etc into the garden a short while ago. My aim was to see how sharp the lens was in lower light.

The lens is a Nikon 600 AFS 1 and i wanted to try it on the D300 ( already tried on my D700 and its great ) with and without a 1.4tc.. So here are the results straight from the camera after turning into jpg images..

Focus was on the middle book in each case ( sorry but its the only crime books i had handy :cuckoo::nuts:)

Looks like im going to have fun as im confident in the lens, camera and tc combo, they come up fantastic with a little sharpening as expected..
