Hi there, for a while now I have noticed 3 small dots on my images.

When I choose a different lens it elongates the dots completely. At 1st I thought I'd need a sensor clean but the problem seems to be with my canon 24 to 105 l lens.
Can anyone help me ?

If they are there with different lenses, then they are on the sensor, and more than likely dust. Post up the image and we will see.
 
Check the rear element for marks / dust?

Check the front element for fungus or smears?

The OP has already said that it;s there with different lenses... it's clearly not the lens :)


Dust on the sensor. Get a rocket blower... blow the dust off.

That was my first thought, but I think elongate is a typo, as the syntax for elongate doesn't sit right, but would fit eliminate.

OP can clear up when she comes back the thread.

From what I've read it looks like she's talking about the lens, but yes 99% of spots on images will be dusty sensor. Perhaps she hasn't used her other lenses in the right circumstances to see the dust spots.
 
Gotta say, it doesn't appear the OP was "really worried" after all - 2 days since her original post and no return to the scene of the crime :D
 
I am really sorry for the confusion & late reply. Very very hectic weekend.
I did mean eliminate 😊.
I am worried & have contacted calumet, they have advised me to pop my lens in to be looked at.

I have given it a good clean but I'm not confident to mess about too much

You said the three marks are there no matter what lens you use... so it can't be the lens.

Take the camera as well, won't do any harm if they're willing to look at both together. :)
 
+1 for taking the camera too.

Sensor marks are more evident at smaller apertures - if you swapped lenses but then tried the second lens at a wide aperture it's entirely possible that you won't see anything if it's gunk on the sensor.

Try a couple of lenses, stop both down to f16 and take a shot of a blank wall with both. If the marks show up on both pictures then it's almost certain to be sensor dust, if the marks are only on one picture then it's likely to be that lens with a problem.

You must have missed post #10 where the OP clarifies it, using other lenses eliminates the problem, it only happens with the one lens.
