Undertaken BTEC 2yr Fulltime photography Course and administrators have just decided to 'put the cart before the horse' and cover film photography/darkroom.
I have been given a Canon EOS100 but with a Sigma 28-200 Aspherical lens which only seems to work manually. I can hear it trying to Autofocus but am wondering if it is more likely to be incompatible than broken. I'm struggling with the diopter for manual focus as I wear varifocal specs.
The proposal is to use film alongside CCD for the full two years but I don't really want to invest in the film side.(I've just parted with too much cash for Sony 350 ± lenses ETC(!!!!) and a Macbook Pro. Suggestions.......offers of redundant, cheap alternative lens/lenses from any other 'digitalised veterans' out there (sounds quite robotic...or bionic, even!!)

I have a working Minolta Maxxum 7000 film camera you can have for a tenner, posted in the UK. I imagine there are going to be other people with old Minolta SLR film cameras that they almost never use as well.

Your existing Sony lenses will fit but since it is full frame if you have any APS-C only lenses (Sony call them "DT", Sigma "DC") the results wont be very good and the autofocus will only work on traditional screw drive lenses, not those with the motor in the lens itself (SAM, SSM etc.)

oooo my brother used to have the Dynax 7000! They're very good, it was the first Minolta to have AF and auto frame advance wasn't it, I think.
