Hi guys,

Just a quick one.

I am shooting lots of videos for the golf magazine website of professionals hitting shots and discussing technique but the ones I've done with the standard microphone are very poor sound-wise, with a lot of wind disruption.

I was wondering if someone could please be kind enough to recommend one for me.

Rode Videomic Pro seems to be the pick from what I've read. Not sure what the 550D is like with auto volume, but the boost/cut allows you to turn the wick down on the 5D2 so you have less noise from the internal amplifiers.

I have a VideoMic Pro and it's very good. It's very small and light, and sound quality is excellent. If they're still running it, you can extend the warranty and get a deadcat for free by registering with Rode online.
 
Or if you don't need stereo the non pro version of the Rode Videomic is much cheaper. It's a bit big but it works well. You'll probably need a Deadcat as well if you're out in windy conditions.

Sorry to sound stupid but do they definitely fit the 550D?
