What is the best method of shooting video on the GF1?

I have currently got it set to SH as I assumed that was the best quality but Lightroom 3 does not recognise it to import it.

Any tips?

What are you hoping to achieve by trying to import a video file in to LR? It doesn't do video.

I use one of the free MTS to MPEG converters for mine, but I haven't delved any further than just doing the conversion, no editing or such...

As Lightroom 3 has video support I thought I would be able to import all the video clips from THe GF1 straight into LR for sorting and storing?

Does LR3 handle the MTS format? It may well be that you need to convert them to MPEG or similar first and then import to LR3.

LR does not recognise MTS (AVCHD) files. Their support is for DSLR video files and as the GF1 is not one, they haven't gone down the AVCHD route yet. Adobe say they are not commonly used by DSLRs [maybe Sony?], have limited OS support, and have a complicated file structure. So it's not coming anytime soon.

I'm not saying this is true in your case Pete, but people seem to be jumping for LR3 on seeing the "DSLR video support" thing without looking more closely and finding out that the support is only to recognise the file, move it around, and playback. No editing.

II think the mistake I made is recording in AVCHD which iscreally meant for direct playback to TVs whereas I should have used the HD VGA mode which creates a nice MOV file the LR3 recognizes.

AVCHD is an odd format, I can't even find the files on the memory card, so how do you convert it?
