Hello. New to this forum so if I'm posting this in the wrong place then I apologise!

I have a Fuji Z33wp (waterproof point & shoot), and I have a problem with video recording.

When I play it back on my computer (I've tried a few computers / laptops) it skips every couple of seconds, the sound and the video which is making my videos useless.

It's extremely frustrating and ruined a holidays worth of videos :'(

Is there any way to recover these videos? Or does anyone know what may be causing the problem?

Cheers, Gordon.

Try updating your graffics card driver and downloading the latest codecs. That might help.

So you reckon it's more likely to be a problem with my computer rather than the camera? If so, that's a relief!

I'll give what you suggested a try now. Thanks.

Hmmmm, just updated graphics card drivers, made sure have latest codecs, tried a few different media players, but still exactly the same stuttery play back :(

I think that means that it's the camera. But why? What could be causing it?

The other thing that may be worth mentioning is that the videos play back perfectly on the camera itself viewing on the small lcd screen. So it's something in the transition between camera and computer.

iv found sometimes my 7d video does this but plays fine through the canon viewer, have you tried the sofware that came with the camera.

I'll give that one a go, just need to find the software cd that came with the camera, or have a wee search on the fuji site for the pic/video viewer.

Cheers.

Right, so I've tried everything suggested here so far, and nothing is working to solve my video playback problem :(

Does anyone have any fresh ideas I could try?

Getting really frustrated that I can't view my videos properly, got some really good ones too!

maybe convert it to a different format? sounds like you havent got the correct codecs for the file type you are using.

convert to standard avi or mpg and all should be ok

They're avi at the moment, but I'll try converting and see if that does anything. Cheers.

Cheers Dave! That did it :)

Converted video from avi to mpg and that's done the trick.

Thanks again!
