Looking through the view finder on my D800 and in the bottom right hand corner I see the number of shots left on my cards but it flashes "r12". Anyone any idea what that stands for.

"r12" appears to be the number of images left in the camera buffer, not yet written to a card - is there a card in the camera? Is it good?
Thanks gramps for your reply, this has been confirmed by Nikon. I too did think about the card, I have both a cf and sd card in the camera, both recommended cards. What started me looking was the fact that LR5 said it could not read the images on my sd card to file. I then found out that Adobe Bridge would read them okay. Looking in the LR5 forums it seems that others are also having the problem of reading the cards in LR5.

I realise I am going off the original topic but I am beginning to wonder about LR5, for instance after the last upgrade I am unable to print to A3 size even though everything is set up to print A3. All I get is a A4 image in the centre of the page.

Can't help there Peter, although I have LR5 I rarely use it ... have you checked for an upgrade to get any latest updates?

Yes I do have the latest version. I posted the question about the print size on the LR5 forums and got some sarcastic answers even though the problem gets a good airing on Adobe Communities. It seems to be with mac's only.

Remaining buffer frames before it's full. It's not an error. Page 105 of your MANUAL :)

Incidentally, mine says r16. Are you using uncompressed RAW files? There's no advantage to the fully uncompressed 14bit RAWs. Set it to 14bit, lossless compressed, and you'll get your RAW file sizes down to around 40MB, and squeeze more shots from the buffer (if you need more that is).
