We are really fortunate in that we live on a hll and the view over Manchester can, at times, be quite stunning. Several evenings we have been treated to a real light show. I've managed to point a camera in roughly the right direction a few times so I thought I'd share a few here. C&C always welcome (especially from you lot!)

Like them both, but #2 is a topper! I love the layers and fog / misty feel to the whole shot. I also like the dark space below, and whilst some may moan about the tower being dead centre (ish), it does not bother me.

Lovely shots :)

Gary.

Oh don't worry Gary I have about another 20 where the tower moves around!:D:D
Thanks(y)

I do like #2. If Lowry were alive he might start using these colours.

Praise indeed and thank you :)

The big tower is the Beaton Tower, the largest building in Manchester and from where we see it, the weather often makes it look minescule.

some nice images you've cought-well done (y)

The second shot is great. The central position of the tower isn't an issue because enough of the rest of the detail is asymmetrical. For me a "letter box" crop might improve it further. Either that or a reduction of the area of either sky or dark land.

Regards, Tony
