view images from camera on laptop

Is it possible with for example Canon utilities to view images on my laptop as I take them. I don't like to rely on the screen at the back of the camera for important shots such as my first paid portrait shots I am doing next week. So can I attach a cable to a USB port and have the images instantly visable on the laptop just like on the viewing screen on the camera ??

Yep

If you install everything from the cd, connect the camera up and open up EOS Utility and you can see the shots as you've taken them on the pc.

Yeah that'll work, do it in good time though, as it there are a few different ways to set it up, you might also want to get on ebay for a descent length mini usb lead....

I know what you mean, I shot a few pics the other day in my home studio, got the lights set up right to create a clean infinite background, looked real nice but on the laptop looked completely different. Nightmare. The last thing you want to be doing is artificially editing your back grounds, ball ache.... Good luck. Mark.

thanks but I have fully installed utility connected the camera and get a busy message on the camera. The laptop shows about 5 different programmes / options in eos utility but I dont see an option to instantly view as u take the image
