Viewfinder for 5D2.

I got an LCDVF to test out the concept (for manual focus macro, not video) and it looks okay. There's no diopter adjustment on the LCDVF and I find my ageing eyes perhaps need a little extra distance....about a 5mm spacer worked well
I've got a Zacuto-Pro on order now that I'm happy with the potential of the things....the diopter adjustment and standoff frames will make it usable for me.

The LCDVF seems like a solid product, comfortable to use and does the job...if my eyes were 10 years younger, I'd have stuck with it.

Have you looked at the hoodman Loupe and straps - has a diopter adjustment - I'm tempted.......

Have seen on a few forums complaints about the hoodman, so am probably going to say away.

I wear glasses and read a review saying that wearing glasses was fine with the LCDVF. I always wear glasses to shoot stills and video on camcorders in the past so can;t see it being a major problem.

How did you fit the spacer out of interest Bob? I love the look of the Z finder, but can;t justify the price at the min, also I shoot gripped, so the LCDVF seems to make more sense, that said if the Zacuto was in a sim price range I would just take grip off for Video. The Zacuto Jr. is getting bad reviews as well.

Will you be selling your LCDVF Bob? Will keep a close eye on classifieds if you are!

Cheers
Carl

I think Hoodman have aimed their product more towards the video users and the mechanics of the thing aren't quite what I was looking for for assistance with macro focussing. Hoodmans stable attachment (not the straps) uses the hotshoe for mounting....I good idea but not with a twinlight in use.

I guess it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.....depends what your main usage will be. Certainly LCDVF and Hoodman have the more attractive prices but may lack a little on the engineering side.

You should be fine with glasses.....I probably would be fine too but I'm defiantly holding out as long as possible :(

I simply made up something for a test....no fitting
