Canon 50D
• Magnification: 0.95x(-1 diopter with 50 mm lens at infinity)
• Eyepoint: 22 mm

Canon 7D
• Approx. 1.0x magnification
• Eyepoint: 22 mm

Canon 5D2
• Magnification: 0.71x (-1 diopter with 50 mm lens at infinity)
• Eyepoint: Approx. 21 mm

I'm guessing that the full-fame Canon needs less magnification? Is .71x on full-frame bigger and brighter than 1.0x on APS-C? Or about the same? I'm very interested in comments from people who have used both the 7D and 5D2.

And what does "Eyepoint: 22mm" mean?

Doh! Reading the DPR review of the 7D more-or-less answers the technical part of this question but I would still welcome subjective comments on whether the 5D2 viewfinder is way better than that of the 7D.
