Vignetting

I have notice that i have some vignetting when using the Sigma 24-70 on my D700 when shooting at 24mm. The funny thing is that it doesnt do it on all images at 24mm but say roughly 40%--so why does it do it on some images and not others.

it will vary depending on the aperture used. Vignetting is worse when using wide open apertures and improves as you close down.

I get it on my 500 f4 on my D700, only ever see it against a BIF blue sky shot. The D700 has vignetting control, which copes with a confused background, but for some reason struggles with a plain blue sky.

could the internal focusing also affect this? with element groups moving around? just a thought, im sure someone will tell me i'm wrong. The aperture idea seems better.

My Nikon 24-70 does a little sometimes too. Nothing the lens profile in Lightoom doesnt fix though.
