Firstly I just want to state that I do not have a macro lens, just a standard 18-55mm and I have macro stage filters that screw on the end (+1, +4, +10 etc. and these were created using them)

First was done using a long exposure (5 secs) and no tripod to allow slight wobble.

Not keen on the first, too tight a crop for me. The second is better, slightly more menacing, a tad to much of a vignette though. Am also from Wakefield myself, outwood!! small world.:)
 
Nice work though Helen, good depth of field, it works well on the second shot.

I've got some little voodoo dolls, so I'm going to try this when I get my dslr! :D

LOL have fun, I had to do a fair bit of cloning on this chappie as she has a lot of white chips in her head where she's been knocked off, which aren't apparant un til you get a macro shot in!
