Voting Scripts

Hi all,

A car forum I'm a member of is doing a 2011 calendar, and we're wanting to set up a website for the pictures, whereby people can vote for their favourites.

This is all a bit over my head, but I told Mr Chairman that I'd ask on here in case anyone can advise.

He's after a picture voting script to upload to the site, and has found one called gallery3, but apparently that would require an upgrade to the hosting first.

Can anyone help with any others at all? :help: Please don't hurt my brain with too much jargon. :D I'll just be going back to him and telling him exactly what you folk say. Or I might just point him in the direction of the thread.

Many thanks. :)

Gallery 3 has just come out, and there's a thread about it here:

It needs Php5 to function alongside MySql, but most hosts should have this, unless your company is self hosting the site.

Edit: you are going to need some form of database backend anyway, to register the votes, so it might be better if you tells us what you have access to?

I think the problem is that the forum has a limit of ten poll options, and there'll be a lot more photos to vote for. The chairman is only the chairman of the UK club, and the forum is worldwide. The American guy that run the whole site probably won't have time or inclination to cater for our little group, so the UK chairman wants to host the poll elsewhere.

I'm sort of speculating, and don't know this for a fact, but it seems to be the only reasonable reason for it. :)
