Whilst browsing w3schools website I came across their certification exams page and started wondering if it's worth taking one [Costs 75 USD] and sticking on the CV or to stick with more conventional wsqa?:thinking:

Any thoughts TPle?

Having worked in IT for over 30years and 10 of those as a contractor I have never had the need of a certificate. Employers just want to know your work experience and whether you can do the job or not. Having said that I guess the only worthwhile certification would be either Microsoft, Oracle or Unix.

As someone has said it'll be pretty pointless, build a website and link to it, show that you have a good understanding of usability and you're sorted

Yep, building a site and showing it's robustness (conformance to validation) is far more important than having a certificate

A lot of what's been said here can probably be applied to photography certificates too. If it was run by the W3C then I'd think it would hold some merit. Since it doesn't I'd say it's probably not worth the investment. Recognised qualifications are what you are after.
