Desk space isnt an issue,

anyone seen both or tried both and have an opinion on which they think was better?

I have medium version, it is more than big enough for use with my NEC 22"

In fact I often feel that its too big requiring excessive movements !

I have the A5 Wide version much better if you have a widescreen monitor.

The software allows you to tweak it a little to match your screen. Then as the book says it is intuative :D

I'd get the A5 wide version then if you can find one. It matches your screen shape better so will fel more natural.

but a5 is sooooo small, I hate small tablets. isnt the medium one a4, thats like double the a5 one surely better?

We use them at work so I have the luxury of choice. I have an A4 intuos 3 and a couple of the older serial A3 size tablets. The A4 is the smallest I would go as it gives you much more control. The buttons are nice on the intuos 3 but I do find myself sometimes zooming when I don't mean to.

I have the 11" x 9" Intuis3 and at times it is a little too big. I find that I am having to move my hand further to get a brush stroke than the image on screen would suggest.

maybe the intuos3 was different but on the intuos 4 they all look widescreen to me. Also on the 4 the areas are above and below your 3.

you have 8.8 x 5.5 on the medium and 12.8x8 on the large
