I'm off to my last bit of rally action this year with my new toy, the Nikon D40, this weekend in Wales. I'll post some piccies next week.
I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for me as a SLR newbie?
I only have an 18-55mm AF-S lens, so i'll probably need to get pretty close I guess. I have a uv and circular polarising filter, but that's about it i'm afraid. (also a decent tripod, but was thinking of leaving that at home for this one).
Any ideas of cool tricks or techniques i can try to get some good shots etc?
What are people's view on shutter speed? I know some people like slow speeds to blur the background out, but can you do this effectively without a monopod?
