Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a camera backpack and a travel tripod to fit in it.

I was looking for a new backpack and travel tripod that could fit in it.
For the tripod i'd sort of set a budget of £100 ish and was looking at the vitruvian range and velbon ultra rexi l ideally id look to get bag sh on fleabay.

Bag wise I'd like to fit in k30 with lens and enough room for 3 smaller lenses. I'd like the tripod to be able to fit in a top compartment, for urban shooting so I don't stand out as a tog.

Thanks for your help

Thanks, I'm not tall but I'd like the tripod to go to at least 4ft 6. Looking around most travel tripods seem to fold to 12 _ 16 inch but not sure how easy it'd be to get a medium sized bag to suit.

I bought a daypack from Blacks, proper one with a mesh frame and much nicer than the usual camera backpack.

Butchered a Lowepro Slingshot I got from the classifieds, cut all the straps off and it fits nicely in the backpack.
Provides safe storage of camera and lenses, much better than the inserts I have seen.

Can also fit my Gitzo G1158 (without head) upright inside the pack, folds down to 47cm and weighs less than 1kg. Fully extended without the centre column it reaches just under 4 foot, bit short perhaps, but compromises have to be made for sake of portability.

All works well for me and can wander comfortably all day with the bonus of nothing that shouts camera gear inside
