Awesome in every way! And the colour certainly makes the red dot seem a minor detail!

Its sooooo sexy! I usually hate bright gadgets but this just looks simply awesome!
Mind you any thief who knows half of anything about cameras would take one look at this and say Thank You!

Bold is beautiful though! You could leave this on a shelf when not in use and it looks like a 70's artpiece! No stuffing it away in a Billingham for this lil beaut!

You have Leica shooters who cover up the red dot with tape, nevermind these abominations! For me a Leica is the pinnacle of non-intrusive street shooting and reportage. These special editions (didn't Hermes own Leica?) are for for the crass, or collectors to lock away in a vault never to be used.

My opinion of Leica is unparalelled style and functionality... so why not make it stand out!
 
what a waste of 8 and a half grand, you could but a paul smith mini for that and have a lot more style
 
I prefer the M9 but even that looks like a cheap toy camera. Leica really aren't at the forefront of style, lol

18 Mega Pixels in a small compact body though, nice...
 
I'd buy them just to smash them up! Don't know if you've seen the 'etoupe' one, but it's not a colour I'd buy anything in, bar bread :D

I think that's lovely. It's also in keeping with leica tradition.

Many many years ago I used to work in a camera shop in London where we had a whole case of limited edition leicas. There were some really loud and bold designs and I'm all for it.

Sure this little beastie will be mostly for the wealthy collector but it's still great to see them and perhaps at least a few will actually get used.
 
Some consumers are just gullible enough to buy stuff like this, it's like when mercedes released the first i million dollar car and sold out straight away, it's only because it cost a million dollars that people bought it, it was no better than a sports car that was half a million but it's something to have the 1 million dollar one.

A well, more fool them!
 
Question would be what would you rather spend £8500 on, an orange camera or lots of other stuff. :D would prefer a couple of nice lenses and/or additional body too an orange camera, even if it is a Leica

BUT... Only 100 of each flavour of these two and I reckon every one of them will already be spoken for... :D

A big :clap: to Leica for daring to be different and for doing what THEY want rather than catering for the mass market approach... ;)

Oh.... and if they did it in Green I may be tempted but I am still in :love: with my own gorgeous Green Special Edition Leica D-Lux 4 Safari... :D

And whereas those above do not at least MINE still has the beloved Red Dot and the body is a truly gorgeous shade of Green in the flesh... :naughty:

I simply :love: everything about mine tbh and it would be hard to improve on it... ;)

Excellent point that. I am just attracted by the awesome colour and the fact that it is iconic!

And I reckon you can get those in pretty much any colour of the rainbow... :thinking: ... including those FisherPrice shades if you wanted... :lol:

Would save a few grand don't you think... :naughty:

Hey, you cant beat a Luigi's case, and with the inbuilt grip it a blast to use....and yes you can get them in virtually any colour
